The last time that I was able to check for some of the most exclusive novelty cufflinks was way back when I was in high school. Our class had a field trip to a French designer's workshop and there we saw how all the cufflinks were being manufactured. There were also a lot of things that we were able to learn from the people whom we were able to interact with while we were touring their workshop. They said they refused to call their workshop as a factory because they practically felt like they were only having so much fun to even call it working. That is probably why they opted to call it a workshop just like Santa's.

I was actually intrigued back then why they would refer to their shop as a workshop. Of all people, why compare your shop to a fictional character such as Santa Claus. I would not even care if kids would still believe in Santa at our age back then when we were in high school.

All of the guys working at the workshop were having so much fun and it did not even feel like they were actually working. I even told to myself that I would want to work in that workshop as well whenI graduate from college.

However, things change a lot especially when you get to live a life out of college and then you think you know better. I enrolled for a short course in jewelry making just to make sure that I would have just few basic knowledge about designing different types of jewelry.

After a couple of months, I must say that I was able to learn a lot and then I was ready to have it applied. The question that I had at the back of my mind back then was should I just look for a work or should I just design my own jewelry? I think it was like a bolt of lightning that struck my head.
At that very instance, I remembered what I told myself back then when my class had that field trip in the French designer's workshop.

If I went there and applied for a job, I would definitely be placed in their waitlist. There are lots of guys who have pretty much experience to land themselves a decent job in the French designer's workshop. They were all qualified as compared to my small ounce of basic knowledge in jewelry making.

Anyway, I was still able to gather up my guts or whatever was left of me and took off to apply for a job at the French designer's workshop. I was astounded that time because the front desk secretary told me that the French designer himself was there at the workshop. At that exact time, I was in luck that he wanted to talk to me in person. You can tell that I landed a job in his workshop and now, I specialize in designing cufflinks, bracelets, necklaces, rings and watches. I can pretty much call myself a jewelry designer.
